Pay rise 20.4%
PA Wellington Broadcasting journalists will receive a 20.4 per cent pay increase. The public sector tribunal has awarded the several hundred journalists employed in broadcasting the 16.4 per cent increase awarded by public sector journalists and an additional payment for “exercising extra skills”
of 4 per cent. The new rate applies from November 16 last year. Broadcasting management offered between 2 to 4 per cent additional for senior journalists only, by way of an annually renewable allowance. The tribunal however, awarded 4 per cent across-the-board to be built into the salary scale.
