Speedway violence
PA Auckland A mid-race fight at Western Springs speedway on Saturday evening ended with the arrest of one of the drivers. Police said one driver collided with another midget car during the eighteenth race, then walked over and punched the other driver in the
face. Police were kept busy outside the stadium too. Two youths, aged 15, were arrested after they allegedly robbed and assaulted two groups of teenagers leaving the race meeting. The pair were said to have used a knife and a stick in the attacks.
