NZPA-Reiter Wolfsburg Volkswtgen, the West German car and van group, will pay shareholders tteir highest dividend for'six years after more tian doubling profits iii 1985. VW, Nd 1 in the European market, said dividend! would double for lasi' year to 10 Deutschmarks (SNZB.I7), equivalent to 20 per cent,
from five marks ($4.08) for 1984. VW last paid 10 marks in 1979, and omitted a dividend altogether for 1982 and 1983 after running up big losses. The group has yet to announce complete results for 1985, but company sources said worldwide after-tax earnings would be just under 600 M marks (S49OM), compared with 228 M marks in 1984.
