Jail after extra $21,000

PA Wellington An unemployment beneficiary received two benefits at once, gaining more than $21,000 in extra payments, the District Court at Wellington was told. Phillip Eastwood, aged 32, of Wellington, pleaded guilty to a charge of using a document to obtain a pecuniary advantage. Sergeant Max Grey said Eastwood first signed for the unemployment benefit in July, 1978. In December the same year he applied for another unemployment benefit using a different name. He signed a statement saying that he was not already receiving a benefit.

Judge Robertson convicted Eastwood and sentenced him to nine months imprisonment. He said Eastwood could apply for early release to un- I dergo treatment for alcoholism. ______
