Electoral roll booklet
Sir,—What Peter McLaughlin wrote in “The Press” of April 14 is only half the story regarding the electoral roll booklet. This appears to be a political ploy aimed at ensuring that the large influx of Pacific Islanders are registered as voters in New Zealand — in other words a votecollecting exercise by the Lange Government at the taxpayers’ expense.—Yours, etc., JOHN PHILLIPS. April 14, 1986.
