Support for T.U. council
PA Auckland The Auckland section of the Public Service Association voted last evening in favour of the proposed Council of Trade Unions.
The secretary, Mr Joris de Bres, said 135 delegates supported the idea, while 60 were opposed. He said 55 abstained. Mr de Bres said the delegates were required to cast their votes on the basis of workplace mandates received at meetings last month.
The P.S.A. will decide the issue at a national level at a special conference of its executive council in Wellington next week.
