It would have climbed to lOdeg. above the horizon by 2.34 a.m. and will be llldeg. from north. At 5.25 a.m. the comet will have moved to 83deg. from north and 40deg. above the horizon. The sky will begin to brighten from then. Co-ordinates for Nelson, Ashburton, and Greymouth are similar but will be reached a few minutes later than those given for Christchurch.
