Banknote change
PA Wellington Ownership of New Zealand’s banknote printer in Whangarei has swung back to a British company that used to print the notes. The de la Rue Company P.L.C. of London, said that it had acquired the whole of the issued ordinary share capital of Bradbury, Wilkinson, P.L.C. and 50 per cent of
the issued non-voting preference share capital of BW. The acquisition had been made from the American Banknote Company. De la Rue said the purchase meant the de la Rue company now owned 70 per cent of the shares of Bradbury, Wilkinson and Co. (New Zealand) Ltd and the remaining 30 per cent was owned by the Bank of New Zealand.
