Railwats stand on dispute praised
The Canterbury Chamber of Commerce has commended . Railways Corporation for “standing firm” in its dispute with the Cooks and Stewards’ Union.

Union disrutpion of the Cook Strait ferry services was a long-running problem, and disputes must be dealt without hesitancy. New Zealand, and the South Island particularly, had suffered for too long because of union disruptions to ferry services, Mr Jolty said.
