qQHDUGHq,Constituted 1913 RICCARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL DOG CONTROL 1986/87 PUBLIC notice is hereby given pursuant to the Dog Control and Hydatids Act 1982 that the Council has fixed the following fees for the year ending March 31, 1987. All dogs registered by May 1, 1986, $4O. Late registration (additional fee for dogs registered after May 1, 1986), $lO. Special call fee (where owner fails to present dog and a second call is needed), $lO. Dog collars, $2; Replacement disc, $l. Impounding Fee (first occasion only), $l5. Plus $3 per day care and sustenance charge to be paid before release. Impounding Fee (subsequent occasions), $2O. Each subsequent occasion in a twelve month period plus sustenance charges. BENEFICIARIES CONCESSION A reduction of the dog control and registration fee to $2l will be granted to persons owning only one dog and whose income is a State benefit and not more than $2OO per annum other Income, on completion of a declaration to this effect. GOODS AND SERVICES TAX All fees and charges are GST inclusive. LATE REGISTRATION Registration after May 1,1986, will incur a penalty fee of $lO. (This does not apply in respect of a dog reaching three months of age after that date and being registered for the first time. The fee is reduced by monthly proportions for a dog attaining three months during the year.) ISSUE OF COLLARS AND DISCS Collars will not be issued unless at the request of the owner. Registration discs will be issued at the time of payment. Duplicate discs to replace those lost or stolen may be applied for at the Borough Office. REQUIREMENT TO REGISTER The Dog Control and Hydatids Act provides that no person shall keep any dog of a greater age than three months unless the dog is for the time being registered under the Act. Registration is deemed not to be made until the fee has been paid. Application to register should be made at the Borough Office by April 1, 1986. CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP, DEATH OR LOSS OF DOG The previous and new owners are required to notify the Borough Office of any change of ownership and the address of the new owner within 14 days. Death or loss of a dog should also be notified. TRANSFER OF DOG Where the owner of a dog changes address within the Borough notice of the change must be given within 14 days. If the dog is transferred to or kept in another District for more than one month the Council Office in each District must be notified within six weeks of the transfer. CONTROL OF DOGS Under the Dogs Bylaw and the Act the owner of any dog or persons having any dog in his care shall not allow the dog to wander on any land without the consent of the occupier, or be at large in any street or public place without it being under continuous or effective control. Any dog found wandering may be impounded and the abovementioned poundary fees plus sustenance will be incurred. This applies also to any dog not wearing a collar with a current registration label. J. POWER SHUTDOWN GENERAL AREA AFFECTED TEMPLETON TOWNSHIP THE BOARD advises consumers that it will be necessary to disconnect power in the locality described below on Saturday, March 1, so that staff may safely carry out urgent high voltage line repairs. Time: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. approximately. Area affected: All of Templeton Township including Kirk Road from Maddisons Road to Main South Road including all side streets and Bailey Street. As the board will endeavour to restore power as soon as possible, consumers should treat the lines as alive at all times. POWER SHUTDOWN GENERAL AREA AFFECTED DARFIELD TOWNSHIP The BOARD advises consumers that it will be necessary to disconnect power in the locality described below on Saturday, March 1, so that staff may safely carry out urgent high voltage line repairs. Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Area affected: Part of Darfield Township and Kimberley including part of North Terrace, Maxwell Street, McMillan Street, part of Holmes Street, part of Halkett Street, part of Horndon Street to Plantation Road, Torlesse Crescent, Coleman Place, Kimberley Road from McMillan Street to and including part Old Coast Road.
