Dixon ‘ambassador’
PA Wellington The New Zealand athlete, Rod Dixon, has become the nation’s latest sports ambassador. The Minister of Recreation and Sport, Mr Moore, who is leading a 40-member trade mission to Sri Lanka, India, and Pakistan, announced the appointment on the eve of Dixon’s departure to the
United States. Dixon will represent New Zealand at Te Maori exhibition, which wraps up: its American tour in Chicago. The runner will take part in a five-kilometre run at the Santa Barbara film festival in Los Angeles, which features several New Zealand films, before flying to Chicago.
