A Mid-Canterbury farmer has been elected this year’s international president of the Agricultural Exchange Association.
Mr John Winchester, of Hinds, the New Zealand A.E.A. president, was elected at the association’s internation conference at Vingsted, Denmark.
He was chosen from 16 of the association’s international board members.
His new job is a voluntary one, which will require up to four overseas trips during his year-long term.
Up to 120. traineeworkers are brought to New Zealand on exchange programmes each year by the A.E.A. It is not the first time a New Zealander has been elected international president Mr Winchester’s wife, Mrs Jillian Winchester, knew of three New Zealanders who had held the job in the past-
