Pipe in use
New Zealand Steel, Ltd, underground slurry pipeline — a world first in slurry pumping technology — has in use the $26 million project, linking the company's Waikato North Head mine site with the State I steelmaking expansion at Glenbrook. It has pumped the first ironsand concentrate during commissioning tests.
