Buttockbaring alleged
PA Hastings A Hawke’s Bay man who allegedly performed a whakapohane (baring of the buttocks) about the time the car carrying the Queen passed near Clive on Tuesday, refused to plead when he appeared in the District Court at Hastings yesterday. Henare Matua Kani, aged 35, of Pakipaki, was charged with behaving in an offensive manner on State highway 2 at Clive. Kani told Judge Tucker he refused to plead. The Judge said a plea of not guilty would be entered on his behalf. Kani was remanded on $5O bail for a hearing on May 19..
