The Oxford Junior Atlas, Oxford University Press. Editorial adviser, Patrick Wiegand. An ideal book for back-to-school and an atlas with more than usual information. This one deals with continents, countries and capitals and has an easy guide to understanding symbols, scales, and colours used.
The United Kingdom receives special attention in this British-produced atlas, with details on farms, ports, energy, history, countryside, wildlife and technology. There is also a special section for the European Economic Community, another for great adventures of the world, and maps showing world food and raw material production. A handy tool for any student. — Rosemary Brader.
Old MacDonald had a Farm, by William Stobbs. Oxford University Press. A new and beautifully illustrated version of that timeless (sometimes seemingly endless) song, with a page devoted to each verse for 14 animals and one for old MacDonald’s tractor (something new?). The musical score is also included. An ideal gift for th|s very young. — Rosemary Brader.
