Need for airline bonding
Concern has been expressed by the Travel Agents’ Association of New Zealand that 1500 passengers who had bought tickets on Air Albatross would lose their money because the airline had no consumer protection bond. “The good name of our travel industry is always dented when a collapse of this nature occurs and we are very concerned to see the travelling public disadvantaged and unable to obtain refunds,” says the Association in its monthly newsletter.
