Govt adds $50M
PA Wellington The Reserve Bank yesterday added SSOM to the banking system by buying up SSOM of April 14 securities. The weighted average was 23.98 per cent with a range of 23.89 per cent to 24.05 per cent. Yesterday’s interest rate for prime 90-day commercial bills of 23.9 per cent was marginally up on Friday’s 23.85 per cent.
But long-term rates
have eased marginally since Friday, with most maturities down one point. Yesterday 1989 stock was at 20.2 per cent (20.3), 1991 stock at 19.25 per cent (19.35) and 1994 stock at 18.5 per cent (18.6). On-call money was at 20.4 per cent, unchanged from Friday.
This week’s Treasury bill tender will be for SIOOM of 28-day bills, the Reserve Bank said.
