Burton’s ghost—a touch of Hollywood in Wales?

I’m hot one to gossip, but the latest ghost story comes from Wales. They are saying that the ghost of the late Richard Burton has appeared in one of his favourite old watering places,. a pub called Cooper House which is near the late actor’s hometown of Pontrhydyfen, South Wales. Of course, now there are moves afoot to make a television story out of the sighting. The landlady, 40-year-old Gwyn Rees, has been taking tours through her pub pointing out where Burton appeared — it all sounds a touch of Hollywood to me! Dolly. Parton lives in constant fear; a fear so awesome it has made her a prisoner of her own stardom. She fears that she may be attacked by some maniac like John Hinckley, who tried to kill President Reagan. She is also frightened for the lives of her parents, Robert Lee and Avie Lee Parton. “Murder She Wrote” star Angela Lansbury has turned down an offer of $750,000, plus royalties, to write a book about her successful battle to get her two children off drugs back in the sixties. She
said there is no money in the world that would make her relive that terrible time in her life.
Momma Jolie Gabor, aged 76, has launched her own skin cream on the American market. In her blurb she says, “Trust me, darling. Helia-D is made from the life essence of the sunflower plant; this is the beauty secret every woman has been waiting for.” By the way; a jar of her magic cream costs $66 per 2.4 oz. Victoria Principal is
suffering badly from a slipped disc in her back. She has missed so many days work on “Dallas” that the producer is thinking, of writing her out of the series. He said that if she does not get better her character will be killed off. Her ill health is
costing the company too much money — well that’s Hollywood; here today and gone tomorrow. In spite of a broken collarbone and a fractured shoulder blade suffered in a car crash while he was racing at Riverside, California, Lorenzo
Lamas will miss only a couple of days shooting on “Falcon Crest” He has had all his clothing adjusted so he can wear his bandages underneath. Although he is in a lot of pain, he says: "I’m lucky I did not mess up my face.” Boy George was such a
hit on his segment on the “A Team” that the producers have asked him to appear again over three episodes later this season. Boy George loved working with the team and was delighted to say “yes.”
By the way, David Bowie is the next to appear as a guest on the show He will appear as himself.
