Chch skater takes title
PA Timaru Roger Hawkins, aged 17, of Christchurch, ( won the A Grade section of this year’s PSIS rollerskating tour of Timaru at the week-end. The young skater, a New Zealand representative last year, won six of the eight stages in the two-day competition to take the title from the Australian, Mark Whitby.
The favourite for the event, Scott Constantine, finished third. Michelle Linton, of Australia, won the women’s A Grade section with Lynette Watson, of Levin, second, and Angela Hawkins, of Christchurch third. The men’s B Grade competition was won by John Dyett, of New Plymouth.
