N.Z. marksmen named
A veteran of the . 1974 Commonwealth Games in Christchurch, Frank Godfrey (Te Puke), is one of two fullbore rifle shooting nominees for the New Zealand team in this year’s Games in Edinburgh. Godfrey and Chester Burt (Pahiatua) were the two marksmen nominated by the selectors after
trials at the Trentham range over the week-end. The emergency is John Whiteman, of the Sydenham club, who shot for New Zealand at the 1982 Brisbane Games. In the Christchurch Games 12 years ago, Godfrey teamed up with Maurie Gordon, the crack Hawke’s Bay marksman who won the fullbore gold medal. >-
