Bad run continues
Despite amassing a first innings total of 435, placing Itself in an impregnable position, Australia’s embarrassing record of late order disaster this summer was maintained in the first cricket test against New Zealand at the Basin Reserve on Saturday. With Australia looking set to push towards the
500 mark, New Zealand managed to pick up the last five wickets for just 21 runs. Against New Zealand at Brisbane, in the first test of the summer, Australia’s last wickets tumbled for 31, as Richard Hadlee tore through the innings in attaining his finest test figures — nine for 52.
