Turk's plight
A Bulgarian of Turkish origin has been holed up in the Turkish Embassy in Moscow for 10 months with no prospect of a solution to his case. Mustafa Suleymanov, apparently in Moscow as a tourist, entered the building in April seeking to emigrate to Turkey. Several diplomatic attempts by Ankara to win safe passage for him have failed. His action followed reports from Bulgaria of harassment and killing of ethnic Turks who resisted pressure to drop their Islamic faith and change their names to Slavonic ones. Bulgaria denied the report’s accuracy. — Ankara.
