Simpson and Email join
Rationalisation of the Australian whitegoods industry has taken another step with the announcement of a S4OM friendly takeover of Simpson Holdings, Ltd, by Email, Ltd. Announcing the 130 c a share offer in a joint statement, Email and Simpson directors said they believed the merger of the two companies would permit the operation and growth of an Australian-based and controlled industry capable of being more competitive in domestic and export markets. The Australian whitegoods industry has taken a battering in recent years as fierce competition from Asian and New Zealand imports took their toll.
