World OK titles
PA Auckland Swedes won the first two races of the world OK Dinghy yachting championships, which began off Milford Beach, Auckland, yesterday. In the first race, Swedish sailors also finished second and fourth. Johan Peterson led the 53boat fleet round the first mark and was never headed in winning the first race of the Bank of New Zealand championships by 21 seconds from his compatriot, Bo Staffan Andersson. Peter Meo (New Zealand), in the top four throughout, was third. ' The defending champion, Leith Armit, of New Zealand, was sixth. Conditions freshened a little for the: second race which was dominated in the early stages by New Zealanders and Australians. John Weston (N.Z.) thirteenth in the morning race, led round the first mark from Mark Fisher (Australia), and Meo. Fisher, led later but near the finish was overtaken by Mats Andersson (Sweden) and Karsten Hitz (West Ger-
many). Fisher was third. Meo was fourth, Armit fifth and the New Zealand champion, Mark Croad, sixth.
