Comet visible
Halley’s Comet can now be seen from Christchurch with the aid of a binocular or telescope. The comet today began to rise above the eastern horizon about 5.30 a.m. At 5.45 a.m. approaching dawn would make the sky too light The best place to view the comet is from a hilltop or beach. The comet will continue to rise slightly earlier and a little further south each morning.
