A bank in action
National Westminster Finance New Zealand Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Westminster Bank PLC, with headquarters in London. The bank is one of the ten largest banks in the world and has recently commenced operations as one of the new bank licence holders in Australia using its former
finance company as the vehicle. Nat West — “The Action Bank” as it claims to be commonly known — has a history going back to 1658. The New Zealand arm of the group originated in 1923, not nearly so long ago, but old enough to be the first finance company of its type in the country. The Nat West Bank
Group has assets exceeding SNZI7S billion and shareholders funds of SNZB billion — huge numbers indeed when considered in the New Zealand scene. With this backing and pedigree the public has every right to be happy with the security and safety of their investments with Nat West
Today the group in New Zealand offers investment opportunities with security and safety but also with a high yield linked to market conditions. Investments based round the normal finance company debenture are available with interest either paid, compounded or deferred depending on an individual’s personal situation. The New Zealand group has headquarters in Wellington, with finance centres and leading representatives in 12 other locations throughout New Zealand.
The merchant bank, holding a foreign exchange licence, offering corporate finance opportunities and carrying on money market transactions, is also located in Wellington.
