Money show based along successful overseas lines
“Money shows” have been successfully organised overseas and the one in Christchurch this weekend is based along similar lines to the Sydney show. The two-day show at the Town Hall has a dual purpose:
• Participating companies can put their marketing pitch direct to the public and create a bet-ter-informed investment community. • The companies can also attract business, as experience has shown that this type of easy approach will encourage people to seek financial advice and assistance. Investment ’B6 — the Money Show, is a joint
venture between the Telemarketing Corporation of New Zealand and Exhibition and Conference Divsion of Trade Publications.
T.P. Exhibitions and Conferences has organised many of New Zealand’s most successful “business to business” exhibitions since 1979, including Foodtech, N.Z. Horticultural Trade Fair, Energex, Fishex and Garden Week.
The newly formed Telecorp was established to provide a wide range of communication and marketing services to the New Zealand business community. The managing director of Telemarketing, Mr
Chauncy Stark said, before the launch of the company, market research undertaken showed that many investors, both large and small, were only vaguely aware of the diversity of opportunity for either borrowing or investing.
That research produced a list of 38,000 investors with an average shareholding of more than $50,000.
These “high net worth” New Zealanders are a vital target group as visitors to the exhibition, as will be those who were looking for a safe and productive haven for smaller, but equally hardwon savings.
