Crude to $US14.7
NZPA-Reuter New York Crude oil prices on the volatile spot market plunged again on Tuesday, trading at their lowest levels since 1979. West Texas Intermediate, the benchmark United States crude, closed at 5U514.75 a barrel, a drop of SUSI.3S, and below the SUSIS mark for the first time since the decline began in December. Some oil traders said that the sharp drop would set prices on a new slide and that buyers had withdrawn because they expected lower prices today.
