Pet-lover crown topples?
Reuter London The British are in danger of losing their reputation as pet lovers, according to a report by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruely to Animals. The R.S.P.C.A. said it logged a record one million calls about possible abuse of animals last year. The society, commenting on a one-third rise in animal cruelty investigations, blamed the figures on a general increase of violence in British society.
