Claim for record catch
PA Tauranga A New Zealand record will be claimed for a dolphin fish, or dorado, caught by a Tauranga woman off Mayor Island. Mrs Pam Lauder’s catch made last Saturday, weighed 6.5 kg, only o.lkg, over the record. The launchmaster, Mr Trevor Gray, said the fish weighed in at seven kilograms when first weighed on the launch’s scales. It was not until later when it had dried and lost weight that its record potential was realised and it was officially weighed.
