PROGRAMMER OR JUNIOR PROGRAMMER Petrocorp has recently expanded its data processing activities with the installation of a Prime 2550 at its Bell Block offices in Taranaki. This machine is linked with the existing Prime 750 located in Wellington and we are therefore seeking additional EDP Personnel in Taranaki. The Programmer's or Junior Programmer's responsibilities will including programming, maintaining the operating environment, providing applications software user support together with other activities. A minimum of one year's experience is required for the Programmer position. Suitably qualified applicants with less experience would be considered for the Junior Programmer position. Applicants for both these positions should hold an NZCDP or degree in computer science. Applicants without tertiary qualifications but with a high level of practical experience will also be considered. Experience on Prime machines is an advantage but not essential. The appointees will be required to use both COBOL and INFORMATION (PICK). An appropriate salary package will be offered to the successful applicant dependent upon experience and qualifications.
