Letters to the Editor
(1) Letters submitted for printing in this column must not exceed 150 words. They should be written in ink or preferably typed on one side of the paper. Ample space must be left in the margins and between lines for sub-editing marks. (2) Letters written over pen-names or initials will not ordinarily be considered for publication. A legible signature and full postal address — not a P.O. Box number — are essential. (3) The correspondent must say whether the letter has been or is to be submitted elsewhere. The Editor does not undertake to acknowledge, hold, return or enter into correspondence on any letter not accepted for publication. (4) Address letters to the Editor, "The Press,” P.O. Box 1005 Christchurch.
R.S. — A letter with so many Biblical quotations is likely to produce counter-interpretations and a profitless extension of the debate.
R.E.B. — Both sides, and side issues, of the argument have been and are being printed. A.E.T. — You are repeating what has been said in hundreds of printed letters, and doing so in too great a length for these columns. T.P.P. — There has not been any suggestion of peeping in keyholes or elsewhere. In many countries a conviction for spying would meet a far more severe punishment than the two spies — an occupational term in their case — are serving. H.C., A.C.T. — Nd doubt many people will agree with you; but personal attacks on the recipient and/or the bestower will not be accepted.
