Chocolate cake

Ingredients 1% cups of flour IYi teaspoons baking powder y 2 teaspoon baking soda y 4 teaspoon salt y 4 cup cocoa 1 cup sugar 125 grams butter 1 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 eggs Method 1. Turn oven to 180 deg. 2. Grease a round cake tin. 3. Line tin with greaseproof paper. 4. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cocoa into mixing bowl. 5. Add sugar to mixing bowl. 6. Melt the butter in a saucepan over a low heat.

7. Stir milk and vanilla into the butter, after removing the saucepan from the stove.

8. Add butter mixture to flour and mix well. 9. Add eggs and beat mixture until smooth. 10. Pour mixture into tin and bake for an hour.

Test with a skewer or knitting-needle. If the needle comes out of the cake without any mixture sticking to it, the cake is cooked. 11. When the cake has cooled, mix iy 2 cups of icing sugar, three tablespoons of cocoa, and one tablespoon butter with a little hot water to mix. Spread the icing over the cake. Use a knife to spread it evenly.
