Large fleet expected
One of the largest fleets of yachts in Canterbury this season is expected to sail in the annual Charteris Bay regatta at the week-end. As an incentive for all senior and intermediate sailors, Marlborough Sounds Charter Yachts has offered as a prize one week of cruising in the Marlborough Sounds in a Noelex 25. About $lOOO in prize money is at stake at the week-end. Trailer yacht crews will compete for the Ships Wheel Trophy and Douglas Cox Cup, while dinghy yachtsmen will contest a four-race series.
