Imminent series spurs cyclists
The Canterbury track cycling championships, only four weeks away, were on the minds of most riders at the Denton Park meeting on Wednesday night. Jon Andrews, the junior world championship representative, was in top form winning the open senior sprint race. Brian Fowler, who has just returned from the Oceania Games, rode a well judged 8000 m race to win narrowly from Daarryl Kircher, of Ashburton. In the open novice section Shane Fletcher won both novice handicap events. Results:
