Blovinski top chance at Greymouth

By ALEX McMILLAN The Tom Lalor-trained Blovinski returned a win dividend of $17.60 when successful against the three-year-olds at Omoto 12 months ago, but is certain to be considerably better supported when he contests the Scenicland Businessmen’s 10,000 (2000 m at the Greymouth Jockey Club’s meeting there today. If he is successful, the result would be a continuation of the domination in feature middle-distance races on the current West Coast circuit by Riccartontrained runners, with Blovinski, In the Glen and Vrinsk (Hokitika Cup) having triumphed to date.

Royal Adder, a sound fourth in the Centennial Nuggets, and Vrinsk, are likely to be Blovinski’s bestbacked rivals today, with Blyme and Gay King also guaranteed good support. The Scenicland Businessmen’s event is the T.A.B. trifecta race today and also the third leg of the T.A.B. treble. Slick Million (Brown Walters Toyota Improvers’) and Burdite (Nelson Moving Co. Three-year-old) appeal in the first two legs of the treble.
