Wheelchair athlete’s bid
PA j Wellington A disabled Wellington sportsman, Stuart Minifie, will leave for the Australian national wheelchair games on Friday hoping to break the 100-metre world record for paraplegics. The winner of the 1985
Paraplegic Sportsman of the Year award, Minifie, aged 26, has raised over $2OOO from raffles and sponsors to compete in the 10day event in Adelaide. He said yesterday he had to chop two seconds off his 100-metre time to take the world record.
