South Africa
Sir,—Bert Walker’s views on South Africa have come from his first-hand experiences of everyday life in that country. For those of us who do not wish to believe in the writings of the South African press or those of South Africa’s opponents, a visit to that country forms the only basis for comment on the situation. I would, however, suggest that if you wish to believe everything you read, a copy of “Truth Out of Africa” by Ivor Benson is compulsory grading. — Yours, etc., P. GB3ERT. January 14; 1986.
