Fox in wolf’s clothing

Michael J. Fox, the star of “Back to the Future” and TV’s “Family Ties,” is back in “Teen Wolf,” which will start at the Avon tomorrow.

Like most teen age boys, Scott Howard (Fox) spends his time thinking about girls, blit he also yearns to be different — and this happens in a very peculiar way. It all begins very simply: A few itches around the ears, an unintentional snarl or two, eyes that sometime glow red in the dark.

Scott is anxious to hide these changes from his friends and father. Then, one night, his basketball team is losing yet another game. Scott gets the ball and, suddenly, the other team piles on top of him. A frightening growl is emitted from underneath the pile of humans — and the Teen Wolf emerges. The court is his and the team wins its first game in a decade.

From that day, Scott’s life is never the same. As a teen-age werewolf he does not fit the classic image of the monster: He is no fierce mangier of the young and unprotected — he is loveable and cool.

Fox, who recently started the . fourth season of “Family Ties,” says his chief professional goal is “just to keep working,” as he recalls his earlier and leaner days in Hollywood. He has also appeared in

the Walt Disney Productions feature, “Midnight Madness,” the TV series, “Palmerstown, U.5.A.,” and many guest-starring roles on TV’s “Trapper John, M.D.,” “Lou Grant,” “Family” and others.
