Woody Allen as theatrical agent
Woody Allen and Mia Farrow (below), who have already appeared together in “A Midsummer Night’s Sex Comedy” and “Zelig,” team up for the third time
in “Broadway Danny Rose,” which will start at the Academy tomorrow. This time, Allen plays a small-time Broadway theatrical agent who be-
comes romantically involved with the widow (Farrow) of a recently killed gangster. As a theatrical agent, Alien’s clients include a
blind xylophone player and skating penguins, a hypnotist and singing parrots, even a limp ballon act. “Broadway Danny Rose”
proves to be a warm, witty J and always compassionate » spoof on that classic cliche * of the cinema: The legend- ' ary Broadway agent. J
