No N.Z. ’copter worries
PA Wellington The helicopter used by the Royal New Zealand Navy, the Wasp, is made by the financially troubled British company, Westland. A Navy spokesman has said no problems were expected as a result of the company’s financial difficul-
ties and possible collapse. The Navy had adequate spares for its Wasps for the foreseeable future. The recent purchase from Britain of the frigates H.M.N.Z.S. Southland and H.M.N.Z.S. Wellington had included three Wasps and five Wasp airframes, the spokesman said.
