Family affair at Supervalue

The new managers of the Rangiora Supervalue, Peter and Denise Hassler, are no strangers to the district’s shoppers.

Peter and Denise have been in the grocery trade in Rangiora for the past six years.

They opened the Super 7, seven-day dairy in the Lilybrook shopping complex, and ran it for 4% years. They then bought the Super Discounter, running both businesses for six months before deciding to sell the dairy and concentrate on the grocery trade. “The Super Discounter was in between a dairy and a supermarket. Running the Supervalue is the next step,” Peter said. Both Peter and Denise have lived in the district most of their lives, apart from a trip overseas when

they married in 1968. Peter had a printing business before moving into the retail grocery trade. The business will be a family affair with their daughter, Belinda, being check-out supervisor. Peter ana Denise will continue the friendly staff presentation and customer service for which Supervalue is renowned. Each staff member will wear a name tag, and there will be personalised service at departments such as the delicatessen, butchery, and fruit and vegetable departments.

The large brightly lit store has a friendly decor, an up-market presentation and a low price level. These pleasant surroundings, coupled with the friendly service make the sto# relaxing to shop in.
