Post office robbed at gunpoint
PA Auckland The police say they are anxious to talk to a woman who walked in on the armed robbery of a West Auckland post office yesterday. The woman apparently made for the door when she saw a man pointing a rifle at two tellers at the Green Bay premises about 2 p.m. Detective Sergeant Peter Evans, of the Henderson C. 1.8., said the tellers were forced to hand over an undisclosed sum.
The robber, aged between 18 and 24, was picked up by an accomplice on a stolen trail motor-cycle. Detective Sergeant Evans said the robber was wearing a crash helmet without a visor, dark sunglasses, and overalls.
