The position is for two years, located at the University of the South Pacific in Suva, Fiji, beginning as soon as possible. The appointee to this position will be responsible to the Director of the Computer Services Centre. The appointee will be required to develop, along with key USP staff, administrative computing systems which are planned to meet the university's computing needs for a number of years. The appointee will also be required to train USP staff in the maintenance and operation of these programmes and in the skills required to develop future systems. Applicants for the position will be senior computer professionals. Previous experience may not relate directly to administrative computing but the successful candidate will be expected to have a knowledge of university requirements in areas such as course enrolments and student records. Familiarity with VAX systems would be an advantage. Terms and conditions of appointment are set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and salary is based on existing salary paid.
