P.C. 86 conference
Apple’s president and chief executive officer, Mr John Sculley, will visit Sydney in March to speak at the PCB 6 personal computer conference. Other speakers planning to attend the conference are Mr Bill Gates, chairman of Microsoft, and Mr Cyril Yansouni, general manager of Hewlett-Packard’s per-
sonal computer group. The conference is an annual event organised by the Australian Computer Society. The D.S.I.R. has released a paper on information technology in New Zealand, intended to stimulate discussion about information technology.
Compiled by staff from various divisions, it backgrounds information technology and its applications and then discusses opportunities, constraints and needs revealed by a survey that the D.S.I.R. conducted in 1984 and 1985 among New Zealand organisations involved in information technology.
