Horse auction for A.I.D.S.

NZPA-Reuter West Hollywood The actress Elizabeth Taylor, a leading fundraiser in the fight against A.LD.S., said yesterday that an Arabian horse auction and benefit would be held next: month and was expected to raise SUSI million ($2 million) for AI.D.S. research.

events in Scottsdale, Arizona, on February 10 would be shared by the foundation and the Arizona A.I.D.S. Fund Trust. raising dinner that raised $1 million.

She also said yesterday that the record, “That’s What Friends Are For” — sung by Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Gladys Knight — had sold one million copies. All proceeds go to the fight against A.LD.S.

The Arabian horses had been donated by United States breeders for the auction, said the fmmdations’s executive director, Mr Bill Misenhimer.
