Three on charge of arson
Three Kaiapoi men appeared in the District Court yesterday on separate charges against each of wilfully setting fire to a house in Williams Street, Kaiapoi, on January 1. The defendants were Geoffrey Llewellyn David Gordon, aged 22, an unemployed labourer, and Shane Arthur Gordon, aged 20, a
factory hand (both represented by Mr E. Bedo), and Mark Andrew Seddon, aged 18, an unemployed labourer. Judge Palmer remanded the defendants, without plea, to appear in the District Court at Rangiora on January 15. Each was granted bail and was ordered to report daily to the police at Kaiapoi.
