General Manager ■ Apparel Industry ■ Our Client, is an established, respected and well-known manufacturer of a diverse range of products throughout New Zealand and overseas. The Company whose Head Office is based in Christchurch, seeks a highly talented General Manager for their apparel subsidiary which manufactures and markets a wide and prestigious range of casual, industrial and outdoor clothing for the domestic and export markets. The Position, reporting directly to the Company and Group Managing Director needs the skills of a top flight achiever in ‘turnaround’ situations. Requirements of the successful applicant shall include: • A successful background in the apparel industry, preferably in synthetics and/or wet weather gear. • A successful record of ‘profit centre’ management experience at senior level. • Strong marketing philosophy, backed by commercial financial acumen, and planning and strategy development skills. • Sound leadership qualities with ability to motivate and develop team morale. • Evidence of high level, lateral thinking abilities.
