THANKS TO VOLUNTEERS On behalf of the patients of Sunnyside and Templeton Hospitals and senior medical nursing, and administration staff of .these hospitals, the Canterbury Hospital Board thanks the several hundred volunteers who so generously and unselfishly gave their time and energy to ensure that patients received care during the 24 hour industrial action on 2nd and 3rd January. Because of the work of the volunteers and senior staff, patients did receive basic nursing care and basic medication. We are also very grateful to the news media who assisted so willingly with the recruitment of volunteers. T.C. Grigg Chairman
