L.A. Ripper’s toll at 15
NZPA-Reuter Los Angeles
Three more murdered prostitutes have been added to the list of suspected victims of a modern-day “Jack the Ripper,” bringing the toll to 15 in the last two years. Until this week the Los Angeles authorities had at-
tributed 12 slayings to the killer, but police have added three more, including a woman slain last Saturday night. Also added was a prostitute whose bound body was found in September 1983. "Going back over unsolved cases, we felt there
were enough similarities to the others that it should be included,” a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman, Mr William Booth, said.
Authorities announced the formation of a task force to track down the killer.
